The Chief and people of Bonaa, a community located in the Wa East District, are appealing to the Wa East District Assembly and the central government for assistance in completing a community-initiated road construction project. The ten-kilometer road, which connects Bonaa and Manwe, has been under construction through the community’s own efforts for the past few days.

Speaking to Info Radio in the community, the Assembly Member for the Bonaa Electoral Area, Honorable Fatahu Mwengu, emphasized the importance of rehabilitating this key road to boost economic activities. Despite numerous appeals to the central government, the community took it upon themselves to start rehabilitating the road as a proactive measure.

Honorable Fatahu Mwengu explained that the community has reached a point of desperation and is now seeking support from the Wa East District Assembly to complete the construction of the road.

The Bonaa Assembly member revealed that the community’s self-initiated efforts have demonstrated their determination to improve their infrastructure, but they require assistance to bring the project to completion.

The Chief of Bonaa, Alhaji Kadiri Seidu Salia III, also spoke to Info Radio and echoed the community’s appeal for assistance. He called on the government and philanthropists to contribute towards completing the road construction project, recognizing the significant benefits it would bring to the community.
