As president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu took the oath of office as the leader of Nigeria, Inauguration Day is one of the topics that are trending online.

On Monday, May 29, 2023, the new president of Nigeria and vice-president Kashim Shettima took the oath of office.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kayode Ariwoola, delivered the oath of office at the exquisitely decorated Eagle Square in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission proclaimed Tinubu, a former senator and governor of Lagos State, the victor of the presidential election held in February 2023.

Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, came in second place with a total of 6,984,520 votes, while Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party, came in third place with a total of 6,101,533 votes, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the candidate of the NNPP, came in fourth place with 1,496,687 votes. The candidate of the All Progressives Congress received a total of 8,794,726 votes, defeating his closest.
