The Gap is suing Kanye West for $2 million over their failed cooperation, alleging that the troubled musician made improvements to a Los Angeles rental property without the landlord’s permission and that these adjustments are now subject to collection.

Gap reportedly filed a lawsuit in LA court last month against West, 45, and his Yeezy apparel line, according to court records acquired by The Post.

Gap was sued by Art City Center last year for “damages” to the building, located at 1360 E. 6th St., which the company contends it owns.

According to the lawsuit, the modifications included construction an outdoor ramp in the east side parking lot, placing a tunnel there, removing the ceiling lights, constructing a wall, and eliminating three bathrooms.

West, who announced the Yeezy Gap cooperation in 2020, is being blamed by Gap.

According to the lawsuit against West, “by making and not repairing or restoring the foregoing alterations of the premises that [West] made without Gap’s participation or approval, [West] breached the strategic agreement and directly and proximately caused Gap to incur expenses to repair and restore the premises.”

Gap is requesting $2 million in compensatory damages for itself, as well as that West be held accountable for any losses owed to Art City.

Reps for West have been contacted by The Post for comment. A Gap representative declined to comment, citing ongoing legal proceedings.
Following a succession of anti-Semitic remarks from the “Stronger” rapper last fall, Gap canceled its collaboration with him.

Gap issued a statement at the time that read, “Antisemitism, racism, and hate in any form are inexcusable and not tolerated in accordance with our values.”

West, however, later asserted that the reason the business failed was because he is a “king.”

On CNBC, West declared, “Everyone knows that I’m the leader, I’m the king.” “A king cannot reside in another’s fortress. A king is required to build his own fortress.
According to Forbes, West’s divisive comments also cost him a lucrative Yeezy agreement with Adidas.

This resulted in West losing his billionaire status because his association with the clothing company was responsible for a staggering $1.5 billion of his alleged $2 billion fortune.
