Elon Musk, a billionaire and Twitter’s owner, has revealed Linda Yaccarino’s name as the company’s new CEO.
Musk will be replaced by Yaccarino as Twitter’s CEO.
“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter,” Musk tweeted Friday.
“@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.
“Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app,” he wrote on the micro-blogging site.
The new Twitter CEO was the global head of advertising and partnerships at NBC.
Similarly, Yaccarino also announced her resignation from NBCUniversal on Friday morning, just a day after Musk revealed that he had hired a new, female CEO for the social media platform without naming her at the time.
Musk claims that the new CEO will begin working in six weeks while he takes on the roles of executive chair and chief technology officer, “overseeing product, software, and sysops.”
