The decision to return to the previous conventional academic schedule, which was disturbed by Covid-19, has been made public by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The present academic calendar has been modified and adjusted as a result of the GES.

There will be four terms from January to December 2023, consisting of three full terms this year and one term from the next academic year.

  • Term 1- January to March 2023, Term 2-April to June 2023, Term 3- July to September
  • Term 1 for the 2024 academic calendar is from October to December 2023.
  • Wards will be promoted from their current class to the next class in October 2023.
  • In the academic year 2023–2024, parents must purchase the books for their children in October 2023 rather than January 2024.
  • Parents should be aware that the books their children purchase in October 2023 will be utilized by them through the end of the school year 2023–2024, which is in August 2024.

Although this arrangement may cause them discomfort today, they will find solace in it in January 2024 when they may have been buying books for their children soon after the Christmas celebrations.

Parents should be aware that the vacation time available during this term will be quite limited—less than two weeks.

Parents are reminded to remember that the GES, not the School, makes the final decision regarding reversion.

Parents should make proper plans and preparations for the upcoming six to seven months, when the aforementioned changes will be at their most pronounced.
