On Wednesday, gunmen ambushed the campaign convoy of Oforchukwu Egbo, the PDP candidate for the Enugu North/South Federal Constituency.
According to information obtained by The PUNCH, the event took place in the state’s Enugu South Local Government Area at Eke-Otu in Amechi Awkunanaw.
One of the bus drivers in the convoy was slain by the thugs.

According to sources, his body was burned along with the car.
You may recall that on Wednesday night in Amechi, some gunmen also ambushed and killed Mr. Oyibo Chukwu, a senatorial candidate for the Labour Party in the Enugu East senatorial district, along with five of his followers.
All attempts to contact DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the State Police Public Relations Officer, by phone were unsuccessful as of the time this report was filed.
