UWR: Dr. Hilla Limann Tech. University SRC MEET MINISTER OF EDUCATION

On Wednesday April 27, 2022, the SRC President His Excellency Ali Abdullah led a four member delegation to meet the Education Minister, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
The delegation were ushered in by Dr. Eric Nkansah and pleasantries and introduction were done.
According to the President, it is prudent to pay a courtesy call on the Minister’s office, having been elected to represent the students of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University, Wa 2021/2022 academic year.
On behalf of the student populace of DHLTU, President Ali expressed his sympathy to the Hon. Education Minister on the demise of his mother *Obaapaning Yaa Nkrumah* and led a one minute sombre silence to honour her memory.
The Education Minister accepted the condolences from DHLTU, thanked and welcomed the delegation to his revered office.
The SRC President took the stage and drew the Minister’s attention to some concerns and challenges of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University namely:
  •  Absence of hostel facilities for students.
  • The need for another lecture hall to cater for the growing number of students.
  •  He made a passionate plea for a free scholarship concession to students of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University.
  •  Last but not least, He made a plea to the Minister to consider patronizing DHLTU faculty of Engineering for the Minister’s agenda 100 engineers project.
The Hon. Minister was quite surprised about the inefficiency and lack of these crucial facilities at the University and expressed his bewilderment visibly.
He said the concerns raised by the President are urgent needs and require quick remedy.
The minister added that he would contact the school authorities in his quest to give urgent redress to the myriad of challenges the SRC President laid before him.
In conclusion, the Hon. Minister expressed his resolve to remedy the situation at Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University.
He said, though he has taken note of the concerns raised, he still needs a document detailing these concerns.
The SRC President assured him of delivering such a document to him promptly.
The Hon. Minister commended the SRC President and his entourage for embarking on such a noble and selfless endeavour.

  1. Among many are the few challenges the src executive mentioned. The institution is in a dying need for the issues mentioned. Thank you src delegate and hope the minister will not forget about what you said in your absence.

    The institutional management what are they really doing? It’s pathetic to see a minute body – src going that length.
