Kamaldeen Sulemana, a winger for the Ghanaian national team, injured his ankle during training and now must rush to get back in shape for the World Cup.
Rennes’ last group-stage encounter in the Europa League came on Thursday, and the player in question did not make the cut.
Rennes’ head coach Bruno Genesio said after the game that he hoped the Ghanaian will be OK for the World Cup despite suffering an injury.
He damaged his ankle and was in pain yesterday. I hope he recovers in time to play at the World Cup.

According to French writer Thomas Rassouli, who was at the post-match press conference for Rennes, Sulemana is not expected to feature for the team again until after the World Cup in Qatar. The 3 Sports crew has confirmed Sulemana’s return.
The way things are shaping out, he “may not be on the field for Rennes until after the World Cup.”
Since sustaining a back injury that kept him out of action for 74 days during the previous season, the 20-year-old has worked hard to earn his way back into the starting lineup for Rennes.
