The Happy Man Bitters Upper West Music Awards (HMBUWMA) on Friday, October 14, 2022, paid a courtesy call to the upper west police commander , ACP Mr. Gabriel Prince Waabu in his Office in Wa.
The Visit was to Congratulate him on his new appointment as Upper west regional police commander, thank the police administration for their support and contribution towards previous editions, introduce 2023 edition of UMA , seek support of the police and also submit a sponsorship proposal to the regional police command to support the UMA 2023 developmental song of the year category.
The Upper West Music Awards delegation was led by Mr Tuurosung Nuhu, affectionately called Echo Sounds the CEO, joined by the Marketing team, Abu Issah (Nel Gee), Hilia Gbene Marshood (GhgoOnline) and from the technical team, Idrissu Dasaana .
ACP Mr. Gabriel Prince Waabu after expressing gratitude to the management UMA for the visit, said Grassroots Entertainment has come alive in recent times all over the region and it’s being consumed by a very large number of followers however, the seek for higher security support is very important and it is a good step taken by the team hence, green light has been given to the team anytime they need security.
He added that he is pleased with how you the organizers of UMA handles themselves. “ I haven’t heard of the group or any individual among you involved in any crime or doing anything that negatively affect the society since your fist edition. Good Music is a unifier. You have the support of the police. Encourage good music, preach peace and unity as you champion the course of Upper West music awards .I will go through your sponsorship proposal and communicate to you in due course”.
The Happy man bitters Upper West Music Awards was successfully launch on 24th September 2022 and nominations have since been opened for musicians in and from the region to file.
This year, the scheme is celebrating the Theme : “Branding and Rebranding”. its dates for nominees Jam, seminar, float, and the award night and nominees dinner soon to be announced.
