Talented Ghanaian songstress, born Jacklin Acheampong but known popularly by her stage name Gyakie has publicly revealed her interest in visiting northern Ghana for the first time as her music career expands day in day out.
Gyakie who is born into a family of musicians released her first song way back in February 2019 titled “Love Is Pretty”. Her “Forever” song from her five song EP dubbed ‘Seed’ which was released in August 2020 garnered attention internationally and topped charts in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. The remix of the “Forever” song with Nigerian youngster Omah Lay strengthened her international fame and she has some since embarked on tours across many African countries and being invited to many gigs in and outside the continent.
It was however, strange she never thought of northern Ghana in her tours despite having conquered the southern.
Who knows maybe, it might be as a result of the unsuccessful shows recorded by other A list others in that part of the country.
But it appears Gyakie is now ready for the challenge as she made a public tweet about the charming sceneries of the North and her readiness to meet her fans over there.
“heard northern Ghana has very beautiful scenes. Can’t wait to meet my people there and enjoy the space 💛” her tweet reads.
Hopefully, she gets innovative organizers and good show promoters so she doesn’t end up like those who preceded her.
