The Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) has officially welcomed Mr. Issahaku Nuhu Putiaha as its new Deputy Chief Executive. This appointment is a significant development aimed at strengthening Ghana’s ongoing efforts to enhance rural water supply and sanitation services across the nation.
Mr. Putiaha’s assumption of office comes at a critical juncture as Ghana intensifies its focus on achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, which aims to ensure access to clean water and sanitation for all citizens. His extensive background in public administration and development projects positions him to play a vital role in furthering the CWSA’s mandate.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Putiaha conveyed his strong commitment to fostering collaboration among stakeholders, improving the efficiency of service delivery, and establishing sustainable water systems within rural communities and small towns throughout Ghana.
Prior to his appointment at CWSA, Mr. Putiaha amassed significant experience in public service. He previously served with distinction as the Municipal Chief Executive for the Wa Municipal Assembly in the Upper West Region.
His career also includes roles at the National Health Insurance Authority, where he served as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and as the Nadowli Scheme Manager. These diverse roles have provided him with invaluable exposure to high-level governance, policy formulation, effective stakeholder management, and organizational transformation. His proven expertise in management positions him as a highly valuable asset to the CWSA leadership team.
As Mr. Putiaha settles into his new responsibilities, there are high expectations for the introduction of innovative solutions, the enhancement of service delivery mechanisms, and the cultivation of stronger partnerships.
