Ghana Library Authority – Wa in collaboration with Literati Creations, has brought joy to the young patients at the Children’s Ward of the Upper West Regional Hospital on Valentine’s Day, February 14th by sharing assortment of treats, including bananas, yogurts, chocolates, and other snacks.
The team, led by The Regional Director, Ghana Library Authority – Upper West Region, Hon. Mabkuu Sampson Marcus and global poet Pobee Mwintombo Joseph, brought smiles to the faces of the children by donating an assortment of treats, including bananas, yogurts, chocolates, and other snacks. These gifts were shared with the patients to brighten their day and make them feel the warmth of love on a day traditionally celebrated for expressing affection.
The event wasn’t just about giving; it was also about uplifting spirits. Pobee Mwintombo Joseph, the leader of Literati Creations, led the children in an entertaining session of music and poetry. Afterward, he shared a heartwarming story of love and togetherness. His words resonated deeply with the children, as he spoke with passion:
“Love is not just an emotion, it is a bond that connects us all, no matter where we are. Today, I want you to know that you are loved. Your smiles, your laughter, and your courage are the greatest gifts we can share. Together, we can make the world a better place, one moment of kindness at a time.”
His speech brought hope and comfort to the young patients, filling the room with an undeniable sense of warmth.
Addressing the gathering of healthcare professionals and children, Hon. Mabkuu Sampson Marcus, the Director of the Ghana Library Authority – Wa, emphasized the importance of spreading love, especially on special occasions like Valentine’s Day. He encouraged everyone to continue working together to uplift the spirits of children in need, stating:
“Today is about more than just gifts; it is about making memories and giving these children a reason to smile. Let us always remember the power of love and the importance of putting smiles on the faces of children, especially those who are not feeling their best. We wish all the children here a speedy recovery, and may their hearts remain full of hope.”
Madam Charity Arah Naayere, the Head Nurse at the Children’s Ward, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Literati Creations team for their kind gesture. She noted that the visit was a significant morale booster for both the children and the staff, saying:
“On behalf of the entire nursing team and the children in this ward, I want to say thank you to Literati Creations and the Ghana Library Authority for this thoughtful act of love.
