Team Tech Titans from Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University (DHLTU) has emerged victorious at the 2024 Statistical-Data Hackathon, taking home the coveted award and a cash prize of GH¢20,000. The Grand Finale took place on November 22, 2024, at Wesley Towers in Accra.

The team impressed judges and attendees with “Agrivestor,” a groundbreaking product designed to harness data for agricultural investment and innovation. Their project exemplified the competition’s emphasis on innovative technologies, analytical methods, and accessible platforms for data-driven solutions.

The Statistical-Data Hackathon is an annual event aimed at raising awareness of the Ghana Statistical Service’s StatsBank and other data sources for policy-relevant research. Participants are tasked with developing cutting-edge solutions that promote the application of data in policymaking and innovation.

This year’s competition focused on:

  • Utilizing datasets from the StatsBank
  • Developing accessible platforms for data visualization
  • Promoting innovative technologies for evidence-based policymaking
