The NPP parliamentary candidate for Wa Central, Hajia Humu Awudu, failed to turn up for the Wa central edition of TV3 Community Manifesto scheduled for October 11, 2024.

Held at the Wa Kejitia lorry station, the event was meant to provide a platform for both candidates to discuss their vision for the constituency, but only the incumbent MP Dr. Rashid Pelpuo appeared, waiting for hours with no sign of his opponent.

In Hajia Humu’s absence, the event turned into an opportunity for Dr. Pelpuo to highlight his achievements, engaging with the community and making a case for why they should re-elect him.

The reason for Hajia Humu’s no-show remains unclear, but the NDC in the constituency is of the mind that she may have been hesitant to engage in a direct debate with the incumbent.
