Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, Member of Parliament for the Wa Central Constituency in the Upper West Region, has revealed a strategic shift in his development agenda, prioritizing human resource development and empowerment for the next four years if re-elected.

Speaking at his campaign launch held at the Tendaama School Park on Saturday, the revered lawmaker outlined his vision for the future, focusing on sustainable employment, youth empowerment, and women’s financial independence.

During the event, which was graced by top dignitaries from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Pelpuo highlighted the various infrastructural projects he and the NDC government have completed over the years. These include schools, hospitals, water projects, clinics, and roads, which have greatly improved the living standards of the Wa Central Constituency.

However, Dr. Pelpuo acknowledged that while the constituency has made strides in infrastructure, it is time to shift gears and focus on human capital development. He emphasized that his key focus moving forward would be creating sustainable jobs for the youth, providing skill development opportunities, and fostering an environment where young people can thrive.

He also stressed the importance of empowering women, announcing plans to partner with John Mahama and Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s proposed Women’s Bank to provide interest-free loans for women in the constituency, giving them access to startup capital for small-scale businesses.

Dr. Pelpuo assured constituents that while infrastructure remains important, his next administration would dedicate more resources to fostering human development in Wa Central. “We have come a long way in building roads, schools, and clinics, but it’s time we focus on our people—the youth, women, and entrepreneurs—giving them the tools and opportunities to succeed,” he said.

In conclusion, Dr. Pelpuo urged the people of Wa Central to vote massively for both him and the NDC’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming December 7th elections.

He promised that together, they will steer the constituency and the nation towards growth and prosperity, with a renewed focus on human resource development and empowerment.

The event attracted a large crowd of party supporters and sympathizers, all rallying behind Dr. Pelpuo’s vision for a brighter future for the Wa Central Constituency.
